Between Us – Live Art Performance
Between Us is an experimental multi media production incorporating performance, installation, photography and video which will engage with the public over a period of four weeks culminating in a final live art piece, hosted at the GoDown Arts Centre, Nairobi, on Saturday 5th July 2014.
In this work, Kyambi explores new paradigms for interdisciplinary collaboration by working with artist and choreographer James Mweu and dancers from the Kunja Dance Theatre to stage a choreographed performance, creating material that examines contemporary viewpoints on themes that are central to her practice: the body, gender issues and social perception.
About the artist

Her work combines performance with impermanent and permanent mediums including clay, sisal, paint and photography.
Much of her work dissects and brings to question perception and memory. She examines how the contemporary human experience is influenced by constructed history, past and present violence, colonialism, family and sexuality. Often the result is an orchestration that engages the viewer in a dynamic process that leaves behind a powerful visual impression.
