THE SPREAD FEST 2019
Date: Sat, May 18th 2019 – Sun, May 19th 2019
Time: 09:00 PM – 06:00 AM
The Spread Fest is the first of its kind in Kenya. A safe physical space for people of diverse backgrounds and sexual identity to connect, share knowledge and explore various themes around sex and sexuality.
Our objective for the festival is to foster learning, inspiration, and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter. We will create a safe space for conversations on a diverse range of topics such as: sex education, sexual reproductive health, LQBTQ, healthy relationship skills, alternative lifestyles such as kink and polyamory.
Discussions will examine how race, gender, class, religion, and other factors influence the experiences of our bodies and our sexuality. Our aim is for participants to leave knowing more about their own sexuality than when they arrived, and to be more empathetic towards diverse people.
The festival will be a one-day event taking place on Saturday 25 May 2019 from 11.00 AM – Midnight. There will be workshops, education stations, healing spaces, LIVE recordings and performances. Workshops will be facilitated by practitioners from Kenya and the USA. Notably, Jet setting Jasmine and King Noire from the USA will run skills workshops covering fetishes, strength training and kink. These workshops are aimed at building confidence and intimacy.
